ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

THE SLOPES

The Val d’Anniviers has three skiing areas - St-Luc/Chandolin, Grimentz-Zinal and Vercorin – giving winter sports lovers access to over 200 km of quality pistes, at altitudes ranging from 1340 m to 3026 m, with a single ski pass. Each of these resorts are within a short distance of the Chalet Niget.

From December to April, St-Luc/Chandolin and the high-altitude resorts of the Val d'Anniviers offer outstanding snow conditions for downhill skiing. The valley also provides a multitude of opportunities for freeriding, ski touring, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. This different winter activities enables the Val d'Anniviers to position itself among the leading Alpine destinations.

The Chalet looks over the valley to the village of Grimentz, the most iconic village in the valley. Grimentz and neighbouring Zinal, St Luc and Chandolin are easily reached from Geneva in 2 hours either by train or road. These resorts lie as the crow flies between Verbier and Zermatt deep in the Swiss Alps and as yet remain very much undiscovered gems. Grimentz is an extremely charming, picture postcard Swiss mountain village largely made up of traditional mazots and century old chalets. The village of Mission is nestled in the valley within a short distance of Grimentz.

Chalet Niget is owned by a family of fanatical skiers, who are lucky enough to have been coming to the Val d'Anniviers year after year. After skiing all over the Alps and exploring many different resorts, we were fortunate to discover Chalet Niget in 2010. Since then the Chalet has been modernised to allow for our guests to stay in comfort and enjoy the many different ski stations available within a short distance from the Chalet. Each resort has its own amiable charm and many pistes to explore.

In our view the Val d'Anniviers offers a skiing experience unattainable in many large resorts and it is regularly sighted as one of Switzerland's best kept secrets. For those that like off-piste skiing and ski touring, it has unrivalled terrain and untouched descents that can stay un-tracked for weeks after the last snowfall.

If you are into climbing, hiking, mountain biking or exploring the high mountains, we are on the doorstep to the majestic Imperial Crown containing the highest cluster of 4,000 meter mountains in all of the Alps. These peaceful mountains offer adventure in both summer and winter and the Chalet Niget allows you to relax and rest after an adventurous day out!
